The Door Stop introduces our new Texas Cabinet Door 

The Texas cabinet door is a square, raised panel door with our stile-cut SC2, panel-cut PC10, and outside edge #6, with Panel V-Grooves spaced at 2-inches. 

This door was designed to replace a very popular plank-door with top and bottom rails. While this plank door is popular in many parts of the country, it can only be used in states with fairly stable humidity levels. The wide variations of humidity levels in the west, and especially the southwest, prevented consumers in those locations from obtaining this plank door.

Because the raised panel is allowed to float within the frame of the door, humidity variations that cause the panel to expand and contract will not be noticeable to the home-owner. This was the reason the plank-door design, which is still offered by many cabinet door manufacturers, are unreliable. In the old plank door, panel expansion would cause the panel to "stick out" beyond the top and bottom rails when humidity levels increased.

Over the years we have worked on designs of this plank door that would be reliable in all climates and still offer an appearance similar to the old favorite. Our motivation was simple; we wanted to be able to supply a cabinet door with this "plank look" to people in the west, as well as the rest of the country.

Now we have found the design that is increasing in popularity every month. It's reliable in all climates and is very attractive.

The Texas features a 2 1/4" frame with out stile-cut SC2, a raised panel with out panel-cut PC10 which is v-grooved on 2" center, and our outside edge #6. The Texas can be manufactured in any wood type and in any size from a minimum width of 7 inches to a maximum height of 96 inches. On taller doors a center rail can be added at no additional cost.

Our Texas door has rapidly moved into the top-twenty on our list of most popular cabinet doors and is especially popular in Red Oak and Knotty Red Oak. Select Alder and Knotty Alder are also very popular, along with Paint Grade.
